Monroe, NC · Night Shift · Off Duty
I'm Randy. I work nights in emergency services, build things on weekends, and started Off Duty Trailers because it made sense — a practical business built around what I already had, run from the acre I call home in Monroe, NC.
I grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma and made the move to North Carolina in 2021 with my wife Samantha. We planted roots in Monroe and haven't looked back. We've got two boys — ages 2 and 4 — and an acre of property that keeps me plenty busy between shifts.
Moving across the country with a young family has a way of teaching you to figure things out yourself. You learn to haul, build, fix, and make do. That hands-on mentality is baked into everything I do — including this business.
Since 2021 I've worked in emergency medical services here in the Charlotte metro area. Not on the truck — I'm on the support side, keeping the fleet operational so the crews that do run calls have everything they need before the tones drop.
That means I work nights. Night shifts have a way of giving you time to think. Off Duty Trailers started as an idea on a quiet shift and turned into a real business faster than I expected. Clean trailers, honest pricing, and a booking system that works while I'm sleeping — that was the goal from day one.
Working in emergency services means you're around first responders every day. You see what they deal with, what they sacrifice, and how little they ask for in return. The 10% discount for EMS, fire, law enforcement, and military isn't a marketing gimmick — it's just the right thing to do.
If you show up for your community, the least I can do is make it easier to haul a load of mulch on your day off.
Book online in minutes. No phone calls. No waiting. Your trailer will be ready when you pull up.
