Off Duty Trailers LLC — Monroe, NC · Last updated June 2026
Section 01
The Basics
By booking a trailer through Off Duty Trailers LLC, you agree to these terms. They're written in plain English — read them. If something doesn't make sense, text us before you book.
Section 02
Who Can Rent
To rent from Off Duty Trailers you must:
- Be 18 years of age or older.
- Hold a valid U.S. driver's license.
- Have a vehicle capable of safely towing the reserved trailer.
- Carry valid auto insurance on your tow vehicle that extends to towed trailers — most standard policies do, but check yours.
- Provide a valid credit or debit card on file.
We reserve the right to refuse rental to anyone we believe cannot safely operate the trailer.
Section 03
Reservations & Payment
Reservations are confirmed once payment or a valid card on file is secured. Rental periods begin and end at the times selected during booking.
First Responder & Military Discount: A 10% discount is applied to all rentals for verified EMS, fire, law enforcement, and active or veteran military personnel. Verification is required at pickup. If booking online, note your status in the reservation and we'll confirm before you arrive.
Section 04
Pickup & Return
- Trailers are available for pickup at our Monroe, NC location as confirmed at booking.
- You are responsible for inspecting the trailer before departure — we'll do a walk-around together and document condition with photos.
- Return the trailer to the same Monroe, NC location by the end of your reserved period.
- Off Duty Trailers is not a one-way rental operation. The trailer must be returned to Monroe, NC regardless of where you take it.
- Late returns are charged at the daily rate for each additional day, prorated by the hour after the first hour.
Section 05
Authorized Use
The trailer may be used anywhere in the contiguous United States. You may cross state lines. However:
- Only the renter listed on the reservation may operate and be responsible for the trailer.
- The trailer may not be sublet, loaned, or transferred to another party.
- The trailer may not be used to haul hazardous materials, illegal substances, or anything that violates federal, state, or local law.
- Overloading the trailer beyond its rated capacity is strictly prohibited and makes you fully liable for any resulting damage.
- The trailer may not be used in any organized racing, off-road, or stunt activity.
Section 06
Equipment Provided
Every rental includes the following, stored in the onboard lockbox:
- 2" ball mount and hitch adapter.
- Ratchet tie-down straps.
- Rubber wheel chocks.
You are responsible for properly connecting the trailer to your tow vehicle, including safety chains and trailer lighting. If you are unsure how to connect the trailer, ask us before you leave — we're happy to walk you through it.
Section 07
Damage & Liability
- A photo inspection is conducted at pickup and return. You acknowledge the condition of the trailer at pickup by departing with it.
- You are fully responsible for any damage that occurs during your rental period beyond normal wear and tear.
- Normal wear includes minor surface scuffs and dirt. It does not include bent frames, damaged lights, broken welds, missing components, tire damage from improper use, or any structural damage.
- Damage costs will be billed to the card on file based on actual repair costs.
- Off Duty Trailers LLC is not liable for damage to your vehicle, property, or third-party property caused by improper connection, overloading, or operator error.
- You agree to indemnify and hold Off Duty Trailers LLC harmless from any claims arising from your use of the trailer during the rental period.
Section 08
Theft
- The trailer is equipped with a GPS tracking device at all times.
- In the event of theft during your rental period, you must file a police report immediately and provide us with the report number within 24 hours.
- You are responsible for the full replacement value of the trailer if it is stolen while in your possession and a police report is not filed.
Section 09
Breakdowns & Roadside Issues
- Mechanical issues that arise from normal use will be addressed by Off Duty Trailers at no charge to the renter.
- Flat tires during rental are the renter's responsibility — a spare tire is provided with every rental for this reason.
- In the event of a breakdown or issue, contact us immediately. Do not attempt structural repairs yourself.
Section 10
Cancellations
- 24+ hours before reservation: Full refund.
- Less than 24 hours before reservation: 50% refund.
- No-shows or same-day cancellations: No refund — no exceptions.
- Off Duty Trailers reserves the right to cancel any reservation due to trailer unavailability or circumstances beyond our control — in which case a full refund will be issued.
Section 11
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina. Any disputes arising from this agreement shall be resolved in Union County, NC.
Section 12
Acceptance
By completing your reservation — whether online, by phone, or in person — you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to these terms and conditions in full.
